Susan specializes in couples
therapy and trauma. Susan has developed many
tools and organized her therapeutic process to meet the
needs of her patients. She has recently begun to
incorporate Mindfulness in her work with individuals and
couples. Individual and
group sessions are available for those who are experiencing
issues with retirement or a loss of a spouse.
Through intelligence and
compassion, Susan guides patients to develop skills to
identify the real problem. It is only when the real
problem is discovered that one can begin to find solutions.
More and more she is finding that Mindfulness is extremely
helpful in this process. This can be as simple as a
few minutes of relaxation at the beginning or end of the
session.
Mindfulness allows your brain
to rest, it is only then that you can access Mind in order
to bring through insight. Susan has worked with
anxiety and depression extensively, she has found that
Mindfulness is extremely helpful in these areas.
Susan has had over 17 years of
experience in the field of psychotherapy. She received
her BA in film and anthropology from New York University.
She has her Master's degree in marriage and family therapy
from National University in San Diego. She is licensed in
New York and Connecticut.
